Portland abounds with cute old houses and lovely gardens. I particularly love the "glimpse", in this one, it was very inviting, i wanted to wander in and have a look around. (but of course i did'nt) I a painted this very "wet on wet". I love to paint a wide open horizon, and of the sea etc, but lately my compositions seem much more intimate. hmm
