I was so entranced with these aspen groves we came across while driving through eastern Oregon. It was magical wandering around on the cow paths underneath and around their trunks, and the twinkly light from the dancing leaves.. Well enough rapsodizing..and back to discussion on painting..and the business of trying to capture the memory from a photo and concentrating at the same time on the formal aspects of painting. Interesting what memory and painting have to do with each other?

Raspberry Sunset
This little painting is the first from photos taken of our recent camping trip to the Oregon Outback. Our last night camping was on a lake with the most amazing sunsets. Its a delight to paint in such deep rich reds and oranges, mostly my paintings have lots of blue sea and sky, etc. I was particularly interested in the little "slice" of yellow light between the land and its reflection. If you would like to purchase this mini painting please contact me $125.00 + $10.00 s/h
