Bluffs, Crimson, 30" x 40", acrylic and oil on canvas
Here is a piece that i have reworked in oil..I have been wondering if i should cheer up the sky but i think the low sliver of light creates some tension. I like a little tension in a sky.

Helliwell Sky
"Helliwell Sky", 6" x 12", 1.5 inch profile, oil on panel.
This viewpoint from Helliwell looking out to Lasquiti is a very familiar and loved place. I find it interesting having walk this walk so often to notice the optical illusion that some things, ie distant islands, seem closer or farther depending on the light, weather who knows what? It is one of the advantages of painting the same thing over and over..noticing subleties.

Two Daisy's
Two Daisy's, 6" x 6" oil on panel, SOLD
A return to a familiar theme of flowers gardens against the sky. My favorite gardens are wild and kind of messy and energetic. I am working on too many paintings at the moment for my tiny studio space! which will only intensify as the season moves along..hmm sort of like a garden.
