My attempt in the painting was to capture the crisp clear clean light and colour on Helliwell at certain times.  Its good for the spirit and i suspect a reason why so many people are so "hooked on Helliwell"

Here is a first for me! At least its been a very long time since i have painted anything remotely architectural or man-made. Though i think in this piece, its really just a counterpoint for the wonderful colour explosion in the tree

Okay i think its time to move on from these tiny paintings of aspen groves and paint them larger! I ran around the neighbour this afternoon, when the sun came out briefly taking pictures of the beautiful leaves about to be blown to the ground..and then that is IT for the colour for this year.

In spite of the glorious weather and knowing that fall will turn to winter and grey very soon, i kept my head buried in the studio, inspired to paint, but now kind of wish i had spent it outside taking photos to paint..BUT alas cannot do everything all at once.
