Tribune Bay, At Anchor

Tribune Bay, At Anchor
12" x 12"
acrylic

I was particularly interested in the strip of beach which appears almost copper and how it shows between the delicate lines of the rigging on this sailboat.  Such a blissful scene somehow, a sailboat at anchor in a peaceful bay, surrounded by the blue and light of the sea.

Feng Shui of a studio

Endless Summer, Tribune for the Day, 12" x 12", acrylic on canvas

I was feeling pretty frustrated at my paintings, too small, not enough ventilation to use oil, etc, etc,  the usual artist angst for the past few days, then i realized the feng shui in my new work space was all wrong, too cramped and no flow and so set to work rearranging it...ahh much better, it seems every new studio work space needs some time to "get" the feng shui and the painting seemed to flow much better today!.  I reworked this piece a little, I think its improved.

Endless Summer, Tribune for the Day

Endless Summer, Tribune for the Day, 12" x 12", acrylic on canvas

I am back in the studio working on a new series in response to what seem to be a long and wonderful summer, usually so short in the northwest.  There is something about a couple of chairs and a sunumbrella set up that says..Relaxin' ...letting all cares fade away.  I am painting these in acrylic as my new studio just doenst have good enough ventilation at this point, though i think these would suit painting oil..any opinions?
