Sky's Promise
Sky's Promise, 12" x 12", acrylic on canvas
This is number three of 12, 12" x 12" seascapes. Painting number two is currently undergoing scrutiny. I enjoy these small challenges, commitments to painting, it creates a framework for a series. Happy February!..the weather gods are shining down

Yoga and painting
Sellwood Yoga Studio and Paintings
Ever since discussing with owners of Sellwood Yoga putting paintings on their walls, I was excited. Their space is so full of beautiful natural light and walls painted harmonious colours, perfect for paintings of the sea. Hanging paintings on a coloured wall can really make them "pop"!

Deep Blue Sea 1
Back to my blog finally after 6 weeks or so of moving studios and working on a couple of commissions, and generally things taking much longer than i anticipate !. I had trouble uploading the photo and had to use the old editor (like being away i forgot how to do it)??
Anyway it feels good to be back in the studio in Portland after a very busy hornby summer.

Now is the Time
Now is the Time, 36" x 36", oil on canvas
This piece i orginally started in acrylic and worked into it with oil..i find the acrylic layering underneath especially in the sand adds a complexity to the painting (hard to see in this photo)
