Hawaii, glimpse

Hawaii, Glimpse, 6" x 6", oil on panel, $125.00 + 10.00 s/hThis is a repeat of a posting. I tweaked the painting a bit, and rephotographed it as there was a small window of sunshine today.
Our view from the place we stayed on the "Big" Island last January; the sea glimpsed from the window, framed by sumptuous Hawaiian flowers. It was beautiful.

Sky Reflection

Sky Reflection, 6" x 6", oil on panel, 125.00 +10.00 s/h SOLD
I was enamoured by the reflection of sky in this piece, a sort of circular compostion banked by pond grasses, flowers, and other pond plants. Kind of its own little sky-scape. I posted this yesterday but redid it today just because i am playing with the design of my blog. I would be happy if anyone had any suggestions, comments of blog design for me! thankyou.!

Coast 2

Coast 2, 18" x 18" oil on cradled panel
I have started a larger series on the Oregon Coast, I love the open coast line, quite different from where i am from in BC.  The light is really different, though hard to pin down exactly how.

Warm Days

Warm Days, 6" x 6" oil on 1/8 panel
Well today I attempted to varnish a bunch of my miniature paintings, but i think we lost a few brain cells so that may be the end of varnishing..though it does give paintings a nice luster.  hmmm.

Days Edge

Days Edge, 6" x 5" oil on panel
This is my second only sunset ever painted..It was fun painting with such hot colours.  A challenge to keep them from being lurid..sometimes the actual sunset is so much nicer than painting.

One Red, Three Slices

One Red, Three Slices, 6" x 6" oil on panel
More fruit painting!  Truth is I love painting fruit, and still life has always interested me.  Its a bit like "back to painting basics" working with more formal concerns.
